The Early Years
The earliest account of Gaelic sport being played in the St Peter's or "Freecrow" area of Lurgan is to be found in the Davitt Park book for 1947.
The 1940s
However, when Father Joseph O'Hagan was appointed to St Peter's Church at the start of the 1940s, his arrival coincided with the birth of St Peter's GAA Club, and Father Joe as he is affectionately known, participated as Club President until his departure 13 years later.
1950s - First Championship Success
The year of 1950 saw the Club reach the County Senior Final, this time Clan na Gael were their opponents.
1960s & 1970s
The termendous achievements of the 1940s and 1950s were not to be repeated. The Lilywhites won the Canon Dunne Cup in 1961 and had to wait until 1967 when, from the new All-County League, they won Division 3 and added the Junior Championship.
1980s & 1990s
The start of the eighties saw the Club take another Intermediate title defeating Keady in 1981, followed by Division 2 titles in 1984 and 1988.
Building for the Future
During the late 1980s and early 1990s the focus switched to the future. Under the watchful guidance of the late Kevin Bradley and others, the Club's emerging crop of under-age players began to develop.
The New Millennium
The under-age academy continues to prosper and is now under the drive and determination of Paul Lavery.
