Madden Raparees were founded in 1931 and had their first major success in in 1935 when they won the Mid-Division League

Madden did reach the Final of the Mid-Division Championship once again in 1952, but were defeated by Pearse Ogs who went on to claim the County Title. 1953 proved to be a more successful year for the club when they won their first County Championship when they defeated St Peters in the final of the Junior Championship.

They went on to reach the Semi-Final of the Senior Championship in 1958, but were beaten by Armagh Harps and then hit a lean spell until 1964 when they won Armagh's initial Intermediate Championship, beating Ballyhegan by a goal.
They reached the Minor Championship decider decider in 1965, but were defeated by Clan na nGael. The club entered Division 1 of the All-County League in 1965, but were relagated to Intermediate level after loosing 12 players to the newly formed Middletown and Ballymacnab clubs.

Undeterred by this they went on to become A.C.L Division 2 Champions in 1969, and the next year defeated Mullabawn to claim a second Intermediate title.

The Club had to wait until 1986 for their next appearance in a County final. On this occassion they faced Mullabawn yet again. On this occassion it was the Mullabawn men who took home the silverware in the form of the Junior title. 1987 saw better rewards for the club, with the senior team winning Division 4, and the minor team won a strong Mid-Board Championship against a very strong Grange outfit.

Unfortunately, the side lost out to Clan na Gael in the Semi - Final. Madden then reached the Junior Final in 1988, but Collegeland proved too strong on the day.

1990 saw Madden make it three finals in 5 years, but lost narrowly to Granemore.

1993 saw the tide turn and great success greeted the Club's fifth appearance in seven seasons. The following term, a victory over Middletown in the Intermediate saw the title return to Madden.

Then furthur history was made in 1998, when Madden made their way to a first County Senior Championship Final appearance. This was truely the highlight of the club's history, an occassion of great joy for the club and parish, even though we were defeated by Crossmaglen who went on to win the All - Ireland Club title.

2003 saw Madden back in the Intermediate Final again but lost out to Maghery.
