Derrynoose GAC has had an active participation in various GAA sports over the years including Gaelic football both men's and women teams, Hurling, Camogie, and tug of war.
The Derrynoose footballers over the years have had a good championship record and won the Intermediate championship in 16th of July 1985 defeating the mighty Dromintee on a score line of 2-9: 0-11, with only 7 teams having claimed this title on more occasions than Derrynoose.
The side have also a good record in the Junior championship having won the title twice, firstly in Crossmaglen on the 25th of August (1963) defeating Forkhill on a score line of 3-05: 1-06, and again on the 12th of August (1973) defeating Tullysaran on a score line of 1-09: 0-05 (replay) after the first match ended in a draw (0-8: 1-05), which was and still is the only draw in a junior championship final.
Derrynoose GFC have honoured the junior championship winning sides of 1963 and 1973 at a banquet in the local community centre. Special awards were made to '63 captain Pat Tomany and Jimmy Christy who skippered the 1973 team to success. Derrynoose have also tasted defeat in the junior championship on the 24th of October (1960) losing out to Mullabawn on a score line of 2-06: 1-05 in a close encounter.
